As the world celebrates International Women’s Day on March 8th, dfcu Bank took an early stride in commemorating the occasion by hosting a special event aimed at engaging its female clientele on the topic of wealth management.

International Women’s Day is a global observance celebrating the achievements of women in various spheres including social, economic, cultural, and political domains. In line with this spirit, dfcu Bank organized a breakfast event held at The Kampala Serena Hotel, where a select group of female customers comprising entrepreneurs, community leaders, and members of the media gathered for a discussion on wealth management.

Over the years, dfcu Bank has been at the forefront of championing causes aimed at empowering women, evident through its range of products, services, and strategic partnerships dedicated to enhancing the financial well-being of women across Uganda.

The event saw Dr. Winifred Mary Kiryabwire, Chairperson of the Board of Directors at dfcu Bank, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to the holistic advancement of women. She highlighted the establishment of the Women Business Advisory Centre, designed to provide tailored support to women entrepreneurs, ranging from business advisory services to financial assistance.

Furthermore, Dr. Kiryabwire emphasized the importance of wealth preservation, noting that the discussion centered on strategies to not only grow wealth but also safeguard it for future generations. This sentiment was echoed by Charles Mudiwa, the CEO of dfcu Bank, who underscored the significance of transparency and clarity in estate planning to mitigate disputes and ensure the seamless transfer of assets.

A panel discussion featuring speakers from S&L Advocate, a Legal Firm, and representatives from dfcu Bank provided insights into the intricacies of wealth management. Annette Kiconco, Chief Retail Banking Officer at dfcu Bank, reiterated the institution’s unwavering support for equipping women with the requisite skills to manage and preserve wealth effectively.

Dr. Gudula Naiga Basaza, Chairperson of the dfcu Women Business Advisory Council, emphasized the pivotal role of networking in entrepreneurial success, while representatives from S&L Advocates highlighted the importance of professional guidance in estate planning, citing legal frameworks such as Trusts as instrumental in wealth management.
