Corporate Games Uganda announced betPawa as a sponsor of the Corporate Run 2026. Allan Tumushabe, the Managing Director, confirmed a UGX 10 million contribution toward the campaign for expectant mothers. betPawa has backed the run since the first edition, contributing funding and teams on race day.
“We are proud to stand with this run again,” said betPawa Managing Director Allan Tumushabe. “Community empowerment through sport only matters if it leaves something behind. UGX 10 million is our way of helping more mothers deliver with care and dignity, and our teams will be on the course as well.”
At the heart of this year’s run is maternal health. Sixteen women in Uganda still lose their lives every day while trying to give birth, with many of these deaths preventable when mothers have access to basic maternal healthcare supplies.
The sponsorship will support the purchase of mama kits containing gloves, cotton wool, soap, delivery sheets, surgical blades and other essentials for safer deliveries. The kits will go to health centres serving underserved communities across the country.
“Behind every number is a mother, a family and a life that matters,” said Corporate Run Chairman Ian Rumanyika. “The Corporate Run is more than a race. It is a call to action. betPawa’s UGX 10 million shortens the distance between a starting line in Bugolobi and a safer delivery in a labour ward that still lacks the basics.”
The fourth Corporate Run will be held on Sunday, 11 October 2026, at the NEC Grounds in Bugolobi under the theme of supporting expectant mothers. Participants will take part in 15km, 10km and 5km races, with a 3km walk for CEOs. The start is 6:00 a.m.
Organisers are targeting 5,000 mama kits for health centres serving underserved communities across Uganda.
The partnership brings together betPawa’s support for community causes and the Corporate Run’s drive to cut preventable maternal deaths, with both sides pointing to one test of success: kits reaching facilities that need them.
