Mr. Franklin Bouguep, President of the Forum, expressed enthusiasm about the need to unite innovative entrepreneurs of diverse occupations, to provide opportunities for personal and professional growth through strategic leadership, mentorship and networking for local and international recognition.

Ms. Yvonne Mpanga, the Executive Chairperson of the forum noted that this year’s theme is innovation culture for business continuity and they expect about 200 participants (virtual and physical) and about 50 exhibitors who will showcase their latest business trends.

Studies have shown that a relatively high percentage of small and medium businesses in the services sector, in particular, reported a decline in access to credit and financial liquidity compared to large businesses during COVID. This forum seeks to address how these businesses can overcome such obstacles through an innovative culture for business continuity.

Ms. Mpanga further noted that this year’s Business Trend setters’ Forum is in line with the objective to guide businesses with creativity, constant innovation and social. The forum is mainly targeting businesses in oil and gas, finance, insurance, education, and agriculture because disruptions in procurement alone have affected every entity.

“We are living in extremely challenging times for the businesses. COVID-19 alone accelerated and brought technologies that would have been needed in 10 years. This calls for making trendsetting a lifestyle for every business leader to face disruptions,”  Mr. Innocent Kawooya, who is one of the panelists of the Oil and Gas/Energy Panel stated.

“Our forum is not only sharing how to set trends, but we also recognize those who have set notable trends and build a daily eco-system in form of social media platforms and this annual trendsetters’ event where more is shared and  CEOs, business leaders, and entrepreneurs get to meet and greet,” Ms. Mpanga shared.

Over 100 CEOs, business leaders and entrepreneurs are to participate in identifying and tracing business trends as Ugandan companies become  fully operational and continue to work towards post COVID19 business resilience.

Ms Mpanga believes that after the finale on 6th April, every participating CEO, business leader, youth, politician, and entrepreneur who seeks to re-invent and be equipped for disruptive impact in business will leave with a new idea and tips on innovations based on industrial diversity.
