East African Medical Vitals (EAMV) has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing safe surgery in Uganda through a pledge of 30,000 pairs of surgical gloves to the Association of Surgeons of Uganda (ASOU) in support of the 2026 Annual Surgical Camp.
The donation highlights EAMV’s continued efforts to strengthen Uganda’s healthcare system and improve access to safe, quality surgical care for patients across the country.
The commitment was announced by EAMV Managing Director, Mr Brian Kavuya, during the ASOU Annual Surgical Camp Fundraising Dinner held at Hotel Africana in Kampala. In his remarks, he reaffirmed the company’s long-standing partnership with Uganda’s surgical community and its shared commitment to expanding access to safe and reliable surgical services.
The latest contribution builds on EAMV’s continued support for ASOU initiatives. In 2025, the company donated 2,800 pairs of sterile surgical gloves to the Annual Surgical Camp. Earlier this year, EAMV also partnered with ASOU during the Annual Surgeons Conference, where it engaged with healthcare professionals and reinforced its commitment to supporting surgical care in Uganda.
Speaking at the event, Mr Kavuya said EAMV’s partnership with the Association of Surgeons of Uganda extends beyond sponsorship, reflecting a shared responsibility to improve healthcare outcomes.
“Our partnership with Uganda’s surgical fraternity is built on a shared purpose of delivering safer surgery and better patient outcomes. As Uganda’s local manufacturer of surgical gloves, we remain committed to providing healthcare professionals with high-quality products that enable them to save lives safely and confidently.”
He also commended ASOU for its leadership in organising the annual surgical camp and recognised the important role played by sponsors, volunteers, and development partners whose combined efforts continue to make life-changing surgical care accessible to thousands of Ugandans.
Speaking on behalf of ASOU, the Association’s President, Dr Kakungulu, acknowledged the consistent support from partners such as EAMV, noting that such collaborations have enabled the organisation to successfully deliver its programmes year after year.
He added that the upcoming surgical camp in the greater Buganda region is expected to transform the lives of thousands of patients and encouraged the public to support and participate in the initiative.
Scheduled for September 2026, the Annual Surgical Camp will provide more than 3,500 free surgical procedures to patients across the greater Buganda region, offering critical healthcare services to communities that may otherwise face limited access to specialised surgical treatment.
EAMV’s donation will ensure that surgeons have access to essential protective equipment required to conduct procedures safely and effectively. The contribution further demonstrates the company’s commitment to investing in Uganda’s healthcare sector and leveraging strategic local partnerships to improve patient outcomes.
Through the local manufacture of high-quality medical consumables, EAMV continues to strengthen the resilience, reliability, and sustainability of medical supply chains in Uganda and across East Africa, supporting healthcare professionals with trusted products while contributing to better health outcomes for millions of people.
