Bamutakudde Village Chairman Solomon Sserwanjja and Corporate Run Chairman Ian Rumanyika have agreed to a partnership that brings the model village on board as a partner of the Corporate Run 2026.
“We are very glad to partner with Corporate Run,” said Bamutakudde Village Chairman Solomon Sserwanjja. “When we all do our part, service delivery improves. Kyampisi Health Centre III is going to benefit from these mama kits, and that is the kind of support our mothers in Bamutakudde need.”
At the heart of this year’s run is maternal health. Sixteen women in Uganda still lose their lives every day while trying to give birth, with many of these deaths preventable when mothers have access to basic maternal healthcare supplies.
Under the partnership, Bamutakudde will be among the beneficiaries of this year’s run, with Kyampisi Health Centre III among the five targeted health centres set to receive mama kits. The kits contain essential items including gloves, cotton wool, soap, delivery sheets, surgical blades and other supplies that support safer deliveries.
“This run is about changing that,” said Corporate Run Chairman Ian Rumanyika. “Too many mothers still walk into a health facility to give life and instead lose a life because they lack the basics. Partnering with Bamutakudde helps us put mama kits where they are needed.”
The fourth Corporate Run will be held on Sunday, 11 October 2026, at the NEC Grounds in Bugolobi under the theme of supporting expectant mothers. Organisers are targeting 5,000 mama kits for health centres serving underserved communities across Uganda.
The partnership brings together Bamutakudde’s model village agenda and the Corporate Run’s maternal health campaign, supporting a shared effort to ensure that expectant mothers have access to the basic supplies they need to deliver safely.
